locked down yesterday with humidity question

Great thanks so much. I think last hatch I over thought it. Worried over it all the time I am doing my best to leave it alone not open the lid of tinker with it. Hopefully I will have better luck.

locked down yesterday with humidity question

I locked down 42 bantham eggs in my hovabator and my humidity is on 75 and temp 100. Could someone tell me what the humidity should be. This is my second hatch last time didn't go so good and they said humidity was to low. I am hoping for better luck this time.

    Dry incubation humidity question

I just had to comment to the comment (had several shrink wrap chicks lol) that is what happen to all but three of my babies the last time. I am trying again and watching humidity and temp like a mama hen. Pray no shrink wrap this time. We will know in couple of weeks.

one of my babies has curved neck

Thanks for the response about my poor little chick. I did as y'all suggested and let nature take its course and he died after a couple of days. I did the best to make him comfortable but didn't coddle him. rip little blackie.

    omg chirping biddie

Thanks for the info. Tuffy sure has bonded with me. He is in there chirping his head off right now because I had to put him down to go to bus stop to get granddaughter. I am going to try the mirror trick. I don't know any one around here that has any babies for him. I know he is so lonely.

    omg chirping biddie

I just got thru my first time trying to hatch biddies using a bator. Only two survived so sad to say and after a week Little Bit died and Tuffy has been chriping his little head off. I have tried everything to console this little fellow and he cries and cries all day. I had to carry him around...

    day 24, no pips

Wait till at least 25 days. I did eggotomy to soon and lost several babies but on day 25 had 7 hatch out only two survived.I think the weather fluctuation and me being a newbie had lots to do with it. I am on my second batch of banthams and going right by the book. Good luck!!

    Day 22 still no chicks??

The first time I tried using the incubator it took 25 days for my chicks to hatch. I think it was because the weather got cold and the room where the bator is got to cold too. Hopefully this set will work out better now that danger of all the freezing weather here in east texas is over.

more question about humidity and temp

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully all will go well. This egg hatching is quite addictive and can't believe I coddle over these two little chicks I have here in my house. I think they actually know who I am because when I go in there to check on them and tuck them in they quiet down and go...

more question about humidity and temp

I just put 36 bantham eggs in my hovabator today and want to make sure I have the temp and humidity right. The temp is staying steady at 99.5 to 100. and the humidity is at 50%. I have read so many different things I am not sure which is the right one to go with. I just took 42 eggs out last...

So I took a peek and not sure if I like what I see (I think)

I made mine out of a small box. I cut a hole in bottom of box and put a 75 watt bulb in desk lamp and cut a small hole in top to set the egg on and it worked real good in dark room.

this is my second time to try hatching baby chicks in incubator

This is my second time to try to hatch baby chicks using hovabator. The first time wasn't to successful. I had set 42 eggs and only have two live chicks one week later after hatching. I think I didn't have the humidity right. They were suppose to hatch at 20 days but it took 26 for some to...

My biddies have been hatching since Monday, the day after they were due but last night I had the sweetest little black bantam chick hatch out so adorable and when I got up this morning to check on him he keeps falling over and can't hold his head up. Can someone tell me what may have caused...
