Thank you! His sibling looks almost solid black right now so I am guessing that is what he looked like. I am debating if I want to get him some silver partridge or birchen hens
He is beautiful! Both it’s parents have white so it will more than likely change as it grows up. It’s a mystery with silkies you never know what your going to get!
I believe he was mostly black when he was that size, the breeder I got him from said they get the white around their neck as they grow. Thank you for your help!
Thank you for your opinion!! I am still learning silkie colors. He came from a birchen mom and the father looked more silver partridge with a lot of white. (thought he was a she until he started trying to crow):)
Do you think he could be mixed? He has lighter beak and skin. Also do they get more spots as they grow up? This is my first silkie of this color so I am clueless😂
Thank you! This helps a lot, I will check him once he starts to get his wing feathers and hopefully he is a silkie! Will he get more spots as he gets older or just what he has now?
They look dark grey with light grey head and wings, does anybody know what they will grow up to look like? One has a yellowish colored head. They could be silkie or silkie mixed
He is about 4 days old, I’m guessing it is a he because of his attitude and looks. I’m not the best with telling from the wings but it looks like silkie feathering so far😁
