The birds are all about 10 months old. No respitory problems. They all have been laying for about half their life and theyve been laying through the winter.

Hey BYC I've got a problem. Yesterday a red of mine seemed very lathargic and she had light colored diarrhea. This morning when letting the chickens out, she was dead on the floor of the coop. What happend and what should I do with the rest of the flock? Please help, thanks.

Hi everyone, My coop has recently been occupied by ants. The ants have also got into the feeder, which is filled with feed. My birs are almost 5 weeks old and are planned to go out wednesday. What should I do? Do they eat ants? Should I dump all the food?

I was wandering, how much chick grit would go into about a pound of feed? Thanks in advance.

Ok thanks ill keep that out of their food. Should I keep the grit out of their food? I usually mix it together

Hi everyone, I have 6 chicks now and they are about 2 1/2 weeks old and they are just eating and making a mess. Im not home for 7 hours during the day so i was wandering, is it ok to put meal worms (Treats) and chick grit into their food? Thanks, slushey51

I live in AL and have my 6 chicks in a container in a tub. I have a regular light bulb over them, they've been here for a week now and i havent changed anything. Is this bad? They seem happy and more open to me and each other. So what do chickens do when they are hot or cold?
