Please let me know! I would really prefer the jumbos. I'm looking at getting a dozen babies. I want to make sure I get them before summer starts to wrap up. We plan on keeping them outdoors in the winter and I want them to be big enough to withstand the cold. Do Standards and California quail...
Oh. Do you live locally? I want the jumbos but we can't afford an incubator this year and I don't want to have babies shipped to me. Maybe I'll do these ones and add jumbos when we can get an incubator next spring.
That would be great! We won't get our chicks for 2 more weeks then it will be another 5 weeks until they start laying. I really hope it improves his allergies but while we wait to see we were hoping others could chime in with their experience.
Hello,
My husband is mildly allergic to eggs. He he gets stomach ache when he eats quite a few by them selves. We are hoping quail eggs won't do that. Does anyone have experience like this or know someone that uses quail eggs as a substitute for chicken eggs? He is also allergic to gluten, milk...

I have thought about hatching this year but I'm not sure I will be ready to handle the babies until next year. I think I need to start researching incubators soon so I know which ones are good.
Thank You. The Cage I currently have has a wire bottom. We are recycling an old rabbit hutch. My breeding set would be in the wire bottom cage and the extras would go in the fish tank until old enough to head to the butcher. The rabbit hutch is 6 square feet and I planned on putting in 5 quail...
We eat eggs probably once or twice a week so we were thinking 4 hens would work good for this year. Our cage current is 6 square feet and we plan on building them a small run. I've hears 1 quail per a square feet. Next year we are building a much larger coop and run but we just don't have the...
