I moved them. She didn’t seem especially upset. She was more upset that I was in the coop. It is very stormy and will be for a few days. There are places in our yard deep enough for them to drown. I just feel better knowing they will make it long enough to have a fighting chance on their own.
This is her first time as a mama. Her and her sister hatched out 1 last spring and it died the next day because neither watched it and it got trampled. She’s doing better alone as a mama but still seems more into doing her own thing.
Our Golden 300 hatched 8 chicks. They are just over a week old. She was quite attentive at first but now she keeps losing babies. We are down to 5. Yesterday there were 7. It is breaking our hearts to keep finding dead ones (or not finding the most recent missing one). She doesn’t stay in the...
