The way I see it is I'll never know everything. So an in depth explanation is very welcomed. And yes, we usually hatch our own and get rid of the roos when they make themselves known lol. But someone gave these to us so I didn't recognize him for what he is. Thx again
Could you elaborate on the rooster part please. We've raised alot of chicks and I haven't seen anything from it that has made me think it was a rooster. Not saying that it couldn't be though. She/he is about 5 months old
We got a dozen chicks a few months ago. Most of them are a black and grey color except this one. Very nice coloring and i often think it looks more like a falcon than a chicken. In fact, that's her name, falcon lol.
I will try to get a better picture
Ok thanks for the info. What is the vacitnation they recommend and how often do they require a booster if any? And how young can they receive the vacitnation?
I have had chickens for over a year and a half now and in the last two months I've had 3 hens die on me. The first one had problems walking, almost like it was drunk, and eventually fell prey to a preditor. The second acted the same and I removed it from the flock. Now I have a 7 month old hen...
I guess I should have mentioned that, yes these are bantam chicken eggs lol. And yes it's the second hatch from this incubator but, I washed everything real good with bleach water and let sit for a few days befor I put the next set of eggs in. Through this hatch I've noticed a relative humidity...
So far 17 of the 40 have hatched. It is a hovabator with auto turner. The 70% is just from filling the two trays that are provided with the incubator. What would be a good % to keep it at for the last couple days?
Well I'm on my second egg hatching experience and I don't feel that it is going well. I have had a few chicks hatch on their own so far (out of 40). But have had several that needed help. I've been noticing they will pip and then that is all. When I check on them later, and the ones ive helped...
Well I just filled up the incubator the other day and go figure I have a hen go broody on me. I have never let the hens hatch them befor but I figure since the chicks will be so close to the ones in my incubator I will let her be. But my question is should I let the chicks with the hen be or...
Nothin outa mine yet. Accidentally cracked one so I opened it up and the chick wasn't fully formed. So I don't have high hopes. For the rest but I will give them till the end of today to do something
