no comb so not barnevelder may be a wyandotte or wyandotte cross I was sold my first bird as a barnevelder but it had peacomb so it turned out to be a wyandotte all barny's have a full comb
Here are some pictures of my lovely Cockerel Barney and our first hatch of Barny and Velda's babies! our9 month old Buff Orpington cross hen was our broody my Barnevelder only goes broody around october time and I believe it's too late then to start rearing chicks not the best weather at that...
I would say Wyandotte as I have both Double gold laced Barnevelda and Gold laced Wyandotte and they both look almost the same in colour just that the Wyandotte has a pea comb and the barny's have a full comb.
My barnevelders are double gold laced and the only difference between them and my gold laced wyandotte to look at are the combs or lack of in the case of the wyandotte.
Also my wyandotte is a plumper looking bird and more rounded in general appearence. If as you say they are brown not gold then...
It has a splodge of yellow to one side of head towards back and a second smaller splodge on the otherside towards the front . Thanks for your suggestions. Main thing is It's alive and well.
Are you sure that your goldlaced is supposed to be a wyandotte?
I ask because I have a lovely girl with rose comb and is the same color all over apart from shape difference and comb she is very similar to a Barnevelda to look at!
Your youngster has rather a dark neck for a golden laced...
Hello all new to all this I was given 3 eggs to put under my broody Barnevelder.
Well we have one lone survivor who I have no idea what breed He/She is?
Photo taken at one day old, and at three days now I have noticed proper little feathers coming on it's wings.
