Shoot, I am so behind on here. I had no notice of new content being posted.
So here is my update. The first go around was pretty much a flop. I only had the 5 out of 15 that hatched. 8 that went full term and just did not bust out : (. Out of the 5 one has pasted on so far. I wish I knew what...
I am using a standard 60 watt in a lamp and its hanging from the ceiling. I might need to raise the lamp some, but I have yet to see any of them sleeping out side of the bowl. Oh and how you like my bird steps lol. The smallest one was having trouble getting back in. All in all its a "cave man"...
At least you had more than one hatch day. I hope I do as well. The five I had hatch all came back to back within about 6 hours. I hope we get more.
I was going to build a cooler incubator until I seen this little giant on FB for $65 with the turner. I sort of jumped the gun thinking I had...
Nice set up. I have everything here to add a fan. I had no idea that it would be that IMP or I would have done it before hand. Well still no movement to speak of on the rest. I only have 8 now cause I broke one open. It was warm and almost fully developed. So I guess I should give it more time...
Wish this incubator had a fan. I just noticed that the temp was a few degrees lower if I set the temp probe on the floor. That must be the reason why so many did not hatch. As of 2am this morning it will be two days since the others hatched. I know every egg is heavy so I still hope more hatch...
Thanks lol. It was an awesome exp. The hardest part is the wait, but you should have yours soon. Once I seen the first couple eggs with cracks in them I could not keep my eyes off them. Then over 24 hours later the first one came out. The last 5 days I seen a lot of movement from the ones that...
That was in the incubator. For the most part they had been running, and they moved all the un hatched eggs to one side. So I got the brooder and put them in, removed the shells, and put the un hatched back in the center. At this point I have 9 left to hatch, but I don't see any movement : (. So...
We have quail! Only five so far. I did have to help one but the other 4 made it without help. The one I helped was the first one that had been trying to get out. Its shell was cracked for over 24 hours but I think one of its legs is messed up...
Sweet. I hope you have a good hatch. Its so hard to just watch and not want to get involved lol.
Movements good. So far I have 3 with cracks. Two I noticed yesterday and another today. Any time now.
Awesome. I have coturnix eggs. Got some movement today but no pipping, so the wait continues.... I brought my 10gal fish tank in from the shed and some wood chips today but its not set up yet. I think I will leave them in for at least a day, so once I see some action I will set things up...
This is going to be a blog of sorts. Its our first time hatching eggs, so its exciting for us. Its been a lot of work, but we hope its about to pay off. We are now in LOCKDOWN
We bought 12 eggs online and have been incubating since the 30th of last month. They sent us 15 and 1 had a crack, so...
Update. Banging my head on the desk over here. Found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130630554465 but the pictures do not match. They are not clocked the same. If you look at the link in post one and this link it shows the flat side of the cup is away from you. On the one...
I am buying a older set up tomorrow with auto turner. Its the LG 9200SA with the 6200 turner for $65. Seems like a decent deal, but I can not find the 6202 cups online at all. I tried this link to Fleming, but it must be an old link cause its a dead end...
