I had 4 of 12 hatch successfully. Naturally under a broody Rhode Island Red. Once they hatched, she abandoned the last 3 eggs. I left them for 2 days and was going to throw them out. Then 1 started chirping at me. I put them in a box with a heat lamp. It's almost finished hatching, but still...

Just looking at the breeders page. She also has wyandottes and aracaunas. Could one of those be the culprit rooster?

I'll post pics of their progress. Sure will be interesting to watch it grow.

Hi all. I bought 12 Australorp eggs to put under my broody Rhode Island Red. 4 have hatched. I know 1s a black, 1s a blue, and 1s a splash australorp, but there's also this stripey one, which I know is not an australorp. Any thoughts? Thank you.
