    Thankyou for the compliment! The plans kinda changed as we built the run. It is 8' deep instead of 6'....so it's flush with the front of the coop, but extends about 2' past the back of the coop.     Wow, I never would have thought of using snow! Thankyou for the tip, we will definitely do that! This picture shows the vents we put on 2 sides of the coop, and we also have the windows for venting.

    We live in Minnesota and plan on bringing water out every morning and possibly at night if it gets really cold. It's going to be inconvenient to do that, but worth the effort knowing we won't have to worry about a fire. The soffits are open for ventilation and we also put in 2 vents on two sides...

    This is the third coop we have built. The first one we built was our beginning stages into raising chickens, and was a temporary coop until we had time to build a nicer one. We built the nicer coop the summer of 2017, but had a tragedy over the winter and the coop burnt to the ground in 2 hours...
