    Coop complete!

Thanks for input, all. Only trouble here in Alaska, it doesn't get dark in the summer!

    Coop complete!

Ramp doesn't seem too steep as they go up and down but just don't seem to go up to stay and roost for the night. Will they eventually just do that? Can I safely leave 12-week olds out in their run all night in these cooler night temperatures or should I continue "herding" them up? Thanks!

    Coop complete!

Now how do I get my chickens to go up their ladder/ramp at the end of the day to their coop and roosts? Will they just naturally do that in time? Right now we are scooting them up as I am worried they will stay out all night in cold temps.

    Sand in the coop run?

We are new to raising chickens and live in Palmer, Alaska. Our coop is about finished but we are wondering about putting sand in the run. Pros - Cons? What's best for colder temps?

    New Chicken Mama

Coop is still in progress, with a big push on to finish as the girls are getting big for the Play n Pack! My husband is building it after lots and lots of research! We are in Alaska and wanted it insulated well and attractive for the area. I have 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Black...
