Have an incubator but it's in use right now. I will check progress in about an hour... if mom isn't setting on it I will bring in and try to help it hatch. The chicks she has are about 3 days old now. She was setting on a bunch of eggs so I'm guessing this came from another hen

I had to take a chick from my broody as it wasn't doing well on Saturday. Today the chick is doing very well!!! Can I put the chick back with the hen after this amount of time? I hate seeing it by itself and the hen does have other chicks. If I can, what would be the best way to do it? Thanks...

Got some trouble with one of the chicks that hatched this morning. It is cold, I brought it in and put under a heat lamp. Also gave it a little warm water... anything else I can do??

Woo Hoo!!! Went out to check and Rhianna's eggs are hatching!!! I see at least 2 little fuzzballs right now and will go out and check to see if there are more later!!!

Right now my black cochin bantam is sitting on 8 eggs. I'm sure their are some silkie eggs in there too and her chicks will be sizzles as my roo is a black silkie! If I've counted correctly this is day 23 and none are hatching yet. Going to wait a little longer before I pull the eggs as I'm not...

Thanks for the information! I live in Michigan and yes it has been cold! Thursday was day 21 so will wait until tomorrow. If no chicks wait longer or should I take the eggs?

Right now it's just really wet flooring. The pallets sound like a great idea and I can get a couple I can put in coop. When the weather is better I am going to build the floor up so it won't flood anymore. Thanks!!!
