I'm not interested in raising chicks and I live in an area where roos would cause issues in the neighborhood. So re homing is my preferred option. I don't wanna put them in the pot either. Maybe in the future I'll have a bachelor pad. It's an interesting idea to look into.

I got them from my local tsc. They only get one shipment a year in the fall from what I've been told.

One of my girls has the genetic feather thing. Can't remember the name of it but her feathers look tattered. shes a sweetie tho.

I'm definitely going to look into the blue laced reds this spring. The silver laced are gorgeous as well.

Orpingtons were said to be a very friendly breed that didn't mind being handled. Decent egg layer and all around good starter breed. A batch of lavenders came in and I bought the lot. So far I haven't been disappointed except with the number of roos I've ended up with.
