My mom is keeping a roo from the flock and plans to breed. She's willing to let me barrow him if needed down the road. She also has a porcelain duckle bantum hen she wants chicks from. Once i get more experience under my belt I'll branch out into chicks.

I'm not interested in raising chicks and I live in an area where roos would cause issues in the neighborhood. So re homing is my preferred option. I don't wanna put them in the pot either. Maybe in the future I'll have a bachelor pad. It's an interesting idea to look into.
Orpingtons were said to be a very friendly breed that didn't mind being handled. Decent egg layer and all around good starter breed. A batch of lavenders came in and I bought the lot. So far I haven't been disappointed except with the number of roos I've ended up with.
