Identify this weed/Can my chickens eat it?

It looks like a variety of bitter mellon (Momordica charantia). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Momordica_charantia_05.JPG It should be ok for them to eat, although is probably does not taste good.

**Necropsy results** Georgie is orange. Any ideas? Jaundice?

I just looked at the website for the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and it says they will perform a Gross Routine Necropsy for free. I don't know what tests they will perform during the necropsy but if they suspect something like TB I'm sure they would run the test. It...

How is your hen doing? I am interested because the yellow skin symptom is not common at all. I think this could be a learning experience for all. I really hope she improves.

    Do butchers do it?

They are called poultry processors. Ask on this fourm about processors in your area. Word of mouth, if you know others that raise meat birds. Local co-op maybe.

**Necropsy results** Georgie is orange. Any ideas? Jaundice?

I don't want to alarm you but this is something to think about. This is the only mention of yellow skin that I could find. Other web sites state that it is usually found in birds around 2 years of age but can develope in younger birds. Also, it is possible to be transfered to humans. Here is the...

Naked chicken... I feel a lot of guilt....

I know some old timers that give suet blocks and high protein treats in the fall to give extra energy for feather growth during the molt.

Carving a pumpkin tonight...can they eat any of it?

When I was a child my friend’s mother gave the chickens an old jack-o-lantern that was on her window sill for a little too long. The jack-o-lantern was soft and a little shrunken but the chickens loved it. Well it turned out that the pumpkin was fermented and she had drunken chickens staggering...

!!! HATS OFF TO INVENTOR OF COOKIE TIN HEATER THANKS !!

Excellent idea, but just a word of caution, there should be a small rubber grommet in the hole where the black and white wires pass through the tin. The sharp edges of the hole will eventually wear through the insulation on the wires causing a short circuit. If this happens, the circuit breaker...
