I give fermented feed in the am and they have crumbles in front of them 24/7. They get scratch (whole corn, BOSS and wheat) twice a day with extra corn in the evening during the winter. Chickens eat everything and if they are picky you are probably over feeding.

It may be that his intestines are permenantly damaged by the parasite infestations that he had. Sometimes the damage to the intestinal wall is so great that they never fully recover and are never able to fully absorb the nutrients they need. It may be a problem without a solution unfortunately.

Well I already was set up with LF, so I knew what colors I wanted and what projects I wanted to work on. It was just a matter of finding stock. I still want to add Lavender and BBS. I have both lined up just waiting on chicks. No reason to hesitate with breding season already on us.

Well my Bantam breeding program is coming together. I have some Blacks and Chocolates which go back to Orp Galore imports. And because of my good friend Greg Mignot, I have added some Clive Carefoot import blood; a pair of Blacks split to Mottle and a Wheaton cock over a Buff Columbian hen. I am...

I also picked up a group of Chocolate/Chocolate Cuckoo juveniles from Richard Jordan stock. I am picking up another trio next week of a very special color for...

The Joys of Owning Imported Orpingtons

Only do it to improve the Jubilee....... and cull all the mottle/spangle chicks DO NOT BREED them they will carry red leakage and ruin your Mottle/Spangle line...... for generations.

    Mottled/Spangled Orpingtons

Jeremy I am new to chickens but bred show pigeons (still have race pigeons) and show guppies for years. Nothing is more frustrating than sorting out a line that has been mismanaged by a breeder. This is exponential when that breeder has mislead you about the genetic make up of the lines and you...

    Mottled/Spangled Orpingtons

I think it is very important that you disclose the genetic make up to the best of your knowledge. I also think it is reasonable for you to ask for a full refund for the pair you purchased since the breeder did not disclose to you that she had crossed varieties that would likely jeopardize the...
