My kids handle ours everyday as well and they are super friendly. I do understand what you mean though. For the first 2 or 3 days I did limit handling time because the little girls needed to rest and grow. I would let them play for about 20 min then ban them from the brooder for an hour or...
I've been reading the posts on color sexing and I have some concerns about this one. She's 9 weeks old, her comb is just starting to pinken, but she's making some odd clucking noises, much deeper than our other chicks of the same age. Also are those saddle feathers? We are hoping for a girl.

The base of the run is 5' 4" x 10". The coop is up 2 1/2 feet off the ground and is 3.5 ' x 5' 4". The roof is 7' sloping to 6'. We've got 6 standard birds in there and so far at least, they seem to have lots of room.
Out of our few chicks, this is the only one whose comb is turning pink. She's 8 weeks old and very friendly. I'm really hoping she's a pullet, so boy or girl?
I know time will tell, but I always have to have something to worry about.
You can probably tell that it is modeled after the "Wichita Cabin Coop" which I greatly admired. The girls are all moved in and everything is running smoothly, thanks to the help of BYC!

It must be a pullet then and I'll stop worrying about it until she crows. It was just weird that she looked SO different from our other one, who is very dark. Thanks for your help!
Oh, and the second group of photos is clearer because I had less "help" from the kids.
