  • I'm extremely interested in your Aloha chicken project. I've been reading and sourcing local birds, with the idea that I could do something similar. But I'm in WI, and so super cold winters are on the top of the list. Very cool stuff. I might bug you with questions, after I read through the posts and the blog. Cool stuff!
Do you still work with Exchequer Leghorns? I have some, but want to improve egg size and plumage as mine are too black. The hens have a black wash over their legs, though my rooster has the correct pure yellow. I would sure appreciate some advice, if you have any to offer. I have white Leghorn hens to work with-they lay lovely eggs, of course, while the Exchequer eggs are like little torpedoes! Thanks............
Love these. I found a few chicks by chance last spring that I thought were called Confetti, I think. Unfortunately, they chose to hide outside the hen house at night and they disappeared. I can only assume a raccoon or such got to them. Have you been able to increase the hen and egg sizes yet? I really don't like it when I end up with small Bantam size hens in my flock. If so, do you ship to California?
