    My oldest son has special needs. He accomplished much more than some doctors thought he would. Unfortunately, he is now suffering from mental health as well and is struggling again. Keeping a positive attitude and a strong faith will help him and us.

    Med13L was only described in 2017, so it is a relatively new discovery. Before that, individuals were wrongly diagnosed or not at all. My son was labelled "Globally Delayed" from birth.

    I don't believe it is related to Autism, but those with Med13L can exhibit features typical of Autism Spectrum Disorder like repetitive behaviour and difficulty with social interactions. My son definitely has the repetitive behaviour! :rolleyes::D

    Yes. I'm high functioning (I think that's what my Mom calls it). I've had troubles reading, but between reading lots of chicken books and now the Bible too, I've thankfully improved. I love studying chickens. :D
