  • Hi All,
I have 3 hens about 18 months t point of lay. They have mash, pellets, wormed monthly, use mite, lice powder, oyster shell and grit, well housed. One hen keeps laying soft eggs for about a month . I bought cod liver oil, it has vitamin D3, helps metabilise calcium (no joy) then bought Davinova C which has calcium helps with soft eggs and am still using. I'll try Cod liver oil and Davinova together! She may be moulting she has lost feathers round her head! I heard moulting cause problems eg:- slow down or stop altogether. She is docile however had a week of being very bossy to one hen, calmed down now. Concerned for her as I'm worried she may retain an egg and it'll cause problems. Is there anything I can do to help her lay hard eggs (She's laid a few hard eggs since being on Davinova C) They hate being picked up! I live in Gloucester, England!! They are out for about & 7 to 10 hrs a day depending on the weather. I would appreciate advice, Help DiJ
