  • I'm rehabbing a peahen (age unknown) and wanted to get your opinion on feed. I have been feeding her chick starter & layer pellets mixed, & berries, greens, cat food, and catching her bugs. I wanted to know your opinion on buying the expensive game fowl food vs.what I am doing. I am trying to do what is best for the birds but also trying to save money and not have rabbit, cat, chicken, and game feed lying around.
Hello I have a sick peahen. 2 days ago I noticed her wings were droopy I didn't think anything of it, it was a hot day. This morning I noticed she was sitting on the floor lethargic. She is still droopy wouldn't eat but will drink water so I added probiotics. Can I give her corrid/safeguard together to knock out the possibility of worms and cocci? Should I treat for blackhead since shes chickens?
Ok so my 8 week old rooster started doing this yawning thing today. I googled it and says it might be gapeworm. I looked up treatment but I couldn’t really get a consistent answer. Now he just started doing this today and it isn’t constant. Read it could also be a realities thing but he doesn’t have a runny nose or swollen eyes. Any help you could lend me would be much appreciated.
Kathy, I am hoping you can assist me. I have a silkie pullet that has bad eye infection. She has been on eye ointment but not really clearing up, maybe a little, she has been on it long enough that I should have seen some improvement. Reading that she needs to be on antibotics baytril. I have the 10% oral batril and not sure of the dosage and if it needs to be mixed in water or if she should receive it unmixed.
I understand that you may be able to help me with a rooster that we have? He has a lump on the side of his face, the Whole side. We have lanced it, penicillin, Tylan, confinement, etc...to no avail. He only came to us with 1 eye and I don't want to have him lose the other due to our ignorance. Can you help us, please? I do not have a local vet who treats chickens.
Hey. Do you have any idea what could be causing a duck to stop laying? My female black Swedish hasn’t layed in 3 days and she usually lays every 1-2 days. It’s very unusual for her to not lay
