11 lb Plastic Hanging Feeder

These economy priced feeders are designed exclusively for the hobbyist. Feed saver lips minimize...
Pros: Affordable, Easy to Clean, Can Hang or Set
Cons: Nightmare in the winter, Easy to Knock Around food dumps
If you have mild winters this is a good product with its ability to be hung or set, cleaning is easy and its affordable. If you live in colder climates this thing can't be used in the winter or it can be with a supplemental heating element. Colder climates I find myself having to get the ice out of water containers and this one is a doozer.

Pros: Holds plenty of feed for a decent sized flock. Hanging hook makes for easy hanging on a higher hook to avoid night time rodents.
Cons: Meh, it wasn't free and won't sit on the ground without unscrewing the base.
I only had issues with the bottom coming off BEFORE I hung it. Once hung... never again. Adjustable tightness for different feed types.

Pros: Hangs, holds a nice amount of feed.
Cons: It is always coming apart, and the feed gets stuck in it.
I bought one of these second hand, and overall, it is an ok feeder, but the feed always gets stuck, even with dry, semi fine food, and you constantly have to make sure it is not about to fall apart.
Pros: It hangs and it is big enough so u dont have to fill it up as often
Cons: The bottom screw needs to always be tighten
I have had 2 of these feeders for about a month. When I got them the bottoms completely fell and i was worried it would always Fall off. But it really hasn't fell but we makesure the screw is always tight. Not the best feeder their is but its doing the job.:)

Pros: it is good for grown chicken and turkeys.
Cons: the screw keeps coming out!
its a love/hate feeder, the screw in the bottom kept falling off,so the bottom where the feed comes out kept falling off, so now I have a tray feeder with a white thing hanging from the ceiling, and my chickens hit it all the time when they fly off the roost. I would not get this feeder.

Pros: Easy to find
Cons: Shoddy quality, easily tipped, broke almost immediatly
I bought one of these when my chicks outgrew their baby feeder. It was broken within days. Just fell apart. Plus, it tipped over easily and just slopped feed EVERYWHERE.

Pros: Great size and price for start up!
Cons: The threads don't last that long
I love the fact that it hangs. Keeps the bugs out and the small little critters out! And the price is right for the backyard farmer ;)

Pros: Holds plenty of feed, chickens like it
Cons: The base can screw off, and it broke after 1 1/2 years
This was the first feeder I got for my chickens. It holds enough feed for my four hens that I only have to refill it once every 1-1 1/2 weeks. I hung mine on a chain, and it was very easy to raise as my chickens got older.

One problem with it is that the base can be screwed off when the chickens cause it to turn in circles. This happened to me about three times during the time I used it. This feeder broke (the braces inside snapped) after 1 1/2 years. This is a pretty good length of time, considering I kept it outside.

Pros: Design always keeps the tray full
Cons: Falls down
Another review noted this feeder might not work with mash, but it does work well with pellets. The only downside is the the chickens can spin it around and the wing nut comes loose. I find it on the ground from time to time, especially when it's empty. However, the feed always refills the tray because there is a cone inside that sends the pellets down. Metal feeders don't have that feature.

Pros: good price, less waste, sturdy
Cons: feed gets stuck
This thing looks great and seems like it should work but for some reason the feed (which is finely ground grains) does not come out. It gets clogged and the chickens eat the food and it never refills. I would still recommend this though just because everyone else seems to like this and it is probably just the feed that is causing these problems. It keeps clumping together.

Pros: No waste, hanging
Cons: No cons for me
I use this in my coop. I have it hanging so the girls can't jump on top. I see no waste from this but I do keep it relatively high. It is adjustable for how much feed you want it to fill with. That will allow you also to adjust if for if you are using small pellets or crumble.
I have 6 chickens and this is the only feeder I currently use.
This does the job I want a feeder to do.:D
Pros: Great for chicks, less food spilled
Cons: None
Only feeder I have that helps reduce waste. Really love it. Wish it came in mega size!

Pros: stops waste, reduces billing out, works well
Cons: warped
I got this on ebay for 19.95 with free shipping. Compared to the homemade feeder I had made with a 10 lb. coffee can and a pan lid, this has considerably reduced waste due to billing out. I think it is mainly the curled under lip, but the "vanes" probably help, too. You can adjust the gap between the bottom of the feeder and the tube, so essentially you can adjust the flow. My unit is warped (i.e., the bottom dish wouldn't sit flat if you put it on level ground), but this doesn't seem to have any major effect on its usefulness. When I have since looked at the same feeder in feed stores, it seemed that most units suffer the same problem. I didn't buy the top/cover as I was ordering online and it wasn't available from the same vendor with free shipping. I punched a hole in the middle of a plastic lid from a 5 gallon bucket and use that as a top and it works fine. I use it to feed a small flock (3-4 hens) and it can be filled with plenty of feed to last a while. I believe the Miller and Little Giant feeders are the same thing (model PHF11). Next time around, I would probably try the Miller 12lb. Galvanized feeder, because I prefer feeding from metal to plastic, but this one has served its purpose well.

Pros: Convenient, Easy to use
This feeder is the only chicken I have. The other feeder I use is a cat/dog automatic feeder type thing. If the chickens are out and about they do not use the feeder at all, unless it is sitting on the ground, then they just scratch the food and then it may be wasted by the rain and droppings. If they are in their little fence area and do not have the option of roaming, they will eat all of it in two or three days. I have 9 hens, and they pretty much eat all day long!
Pros: size - big enough for group but small enough for smaller coop if needed, has a decent lid!
Cons: getting spring adjusted "just right" for feed flow takes some getting used to
Tried some other feeders to feed multiple birds - like this one the best for the size of feed ( I didn't need to put 20 lbs of feed out for small groups of chickens). It has a lid you can get (rare enough) and the lid is fairly close fitting and does a better job of keeping things out of the feed storage and keeping chickens from perching on it. The trough is a more rigid plastic which seems to keep the balance better and not prone to tipping when you have it close to the ground for smaller birds to eat out of. Will be getting more of these.
Pros: holds LOTS of food, easy to use
Cons: heavy, takes up lots of space
It works well but gets heavy to use. I don't have a big chicken farm but I do have 8 now and not ally pf coop room but it works well.

Pros: Holds 11lbs feed, hangs
Cons: Chickens will bale lot's of food out!
Works well, my chickens love to bale out of it though, you can unscrew it to dump dust out. Will work for laying flocks (I have 8 who use the 10lbs one)
