This product has great reviews so I purchased it to incubate eggs that were hopefully fertilized by my stolen rooster. I don't think those eggs were fertile, as they never started. Fast forward a week, my breeder offered me a clutch of eggs from her flock for free, which Instantly grabbed! I had all the settings right, had the humidity good... and after I set the eggs, had to babysit this incubator every step of the way. I felt like a broody myself, watching this incubator as the temp fluctuated up and down, sometimes by several degrees. A week after I set the incubator, I candled the eggs. About half didn't start, but the ones that did had clear veins and an opaque bloodiness. All of the eggs had died. Here's the incubator, and a pic of the thermometer I had inside, which shows the temp when I got up this morning. Even wrapped in a towel, this thing couldn't maintain temp.
Additionally, yes, the temp gauge on the thing is in celcius, and I know it isn't set to the right temp. 37.5C does not translate to 99.5F in this bator.

Pros: It doesn't fluctuate heat too much when properly stored.

With a good system can maintain humidity very well.

Cheap and cheerful.
Cons: As it is, it's not fantastic, does need modifications.
Cheap machine, does pretty decent job.
I recommend surrounding it with polystyrene excluding the front and using a humidity meter to measure it. This will maintain the temperature far better. I have fit 28 quail eggs in here, way more than the 12 it claims.

Seems like a lot of money for the number of eggs it hatches... I can hatch 120 quail eggs or 41 chicken/turkey eggs in my styrofoam incubator with automatic egg turner. So far I've had good results with it and it cost about the same as this one.

Ihave a little giant 9300 Styrofoam still air with egg turner. I did not use the temp control it came with. I am in lock down first day right now. started with 15 eggs 2 were not fertile 1 died last week the others are viable. My temp is 100.3 and humidity at 58% so far so good. This bator cost me 25.00 dollars. egg turner was expensive though

I didn't use the temp indicator it came with either. I have a digital thermometer that I used.

It is heart breaking. All the time and love you put into it, diligent in getting things just right then you loose the entire clutch. Don't give up. I have one eggs that was not ready for lock down so now it is on a heat pad. I had talked to many people who hatched out entire clutches this way but I am not that brave. I have a hard time getting the eggs from my hens before they break them open and eat them so all the eggs I get are precious.

At this point, I plan on waiting for my notoriously persistently broody brahma to decide to go broody again and give her some eggs. Its the only thing I haven't tried to break her anyway.

I have Buff Brahma 6 week old chicks. Had an issue yesterday with all of them ganging up on the smallest chick. I had to move him/her into my chicken infirmary. He/she is pretty beat up and was bloody. Looks pretty good today but is lonely.

I bought this incubator about a year ago. I tried incubating a batch of eggs. The temperature was such a concern. I had a thermostat on both side of the incubator facing out like you. Both thermostat read different temp and humidity %. I was so confused about it. Gave the eggs to a broody hen after 2 weeks. 4 hatched. Bought a Brinsea Ovation 56 EX afterward. Never turned back.

I guess I'm the odd person out on this one.. I LOVE my magicfly tabletop. I run it constantly from mid-March to Mid-August churning out serama chicks every 21 days. If my hens can keep up and I place the slots right on the turner, it can accomodate 12-15 tiny serama eggs.

I run it on a table top with no blankets/covers/ect at all and it never fails to hold temp. It does better then my pair of NR360's.. Just Saturday it churned out 10/12 Serama chicks for me.

I dry hatch on factory settings, remove turner at 19 days and at first pip (usually late day 19, early day 20) I add 1/4" of water in the bottom tray.. I don't add anymore. My humidity is stable and it consistently turns out chicks.

I attached a picture of the chicks inside (forgot to remove top tray this time, oops!) and one of 9/10 in the brooder, #10 was fashionably late and still fluffing in the incubator.
