The Sussex is a Breed of chicken that originates from the small town of Sussex in England. The Sussex comes in 8 different colours (varieties), which include: Brown, Buff, Light, Red, Speckled, Silver, White and Coronation. The Silver Sussex is a heavily feathered breed which makes it very hardy during winter. The Silver Sussex is a dual purpose breed which lays medium sized cream eggs. Each variety of Sussex is extremely popular due to their showing capabilities and calm nature. silver Sussex male fowls have a large comb on their heads while the females have a smaller version of the single, serrated comb. As of right now, there is not a lot of information available regarding the Silver Sussex as it is a fairly rare and new variety of Sussex.
