Your hen would look something like this. When getting more hens, I would stick with the barred rocks instead of the RIR's. They lay less eggs so they will not get reproductive disease as quickly.- triciayoung

Welcome. Scottie, I use heat as well as many members here. I always keep my coop above 40 degrees. I use a safe radiant heat, so no fire danger. IF the lash egg came from her, then salpingitis is likely and calcium is warranted, but IF she has EYP, then calcium should not be given. We just don't know. The important thing is antibiotics right now- triciayoung
