    Yes, the dry sugar didn't make any sense to me. My husband decided to go the burlap and woodchip route. I definitely want to learn more about a condensing hive.

    We're not using dry sugar. We're making sugar blocks, made with, sugar water, vinegar and since I have it on hand I will add some honey bee healthy. We are only insulating the top. I will share some pictures of our setup once it's complete. We have all of the components, just need to put it all...

    Thank you! We'll be pulling the syrup, insulating and adding sugar bricks, hopefully within a week. I might see if my husband is willing to try fondant on one of the hives.

    Should be my last tree post, for hopefully, quite awhile. Hubs got the tree cut up today and started loading it, so he can move it off of the lawn, I'm leaving tomorrow. Filled the hole where the trees came out with rocks. I told him he'd better mark it, so he never asks me to dig a hole...
