I’ll have to try that, I bet mine would love it. Thankyou for the idea! :) Also your hens are beautiful!

    My hens HATE wheat?

Oh right, I worry too much with mine, there’s only two of them and I always feel as though they might be quite cold in the winter months, they used to live in a flock so I feel like they might get quite cold when they are both molting as they have no other hens to huddle with. I think I just...

    My hens HATE wheat?

I only have two back garden laying hens, I’m not planning on getting any pullets either. Mine don’t seem to like oyster shells much, when they first had some they loved it but I barely give them any now as they never want it, they do seem to be quite the fussy pair!

    My hens HATE wheat?

Oh I didn’t know this. I give them some porridge maybe once every week or two when it’s really cold as a little treat and to keep them a bit warmer. Is this okay or do you recommend no porridge at all? Also does that means oats, by themselves aren’t okay? thankyou :)

    My hens HATE wheat?

I’ve tried quite a few different commercial mixed corns and they always leave the wheat, I guess they are just not fans. I know they really like their oats though, I’m always giving them some warm porridge over the winter. thankyou :)

    My hens HATE wheat?

ah right, thankyou, I’ll probably just get them some kind of layers feed (probably crumbles) and add some extra stuff as a treat for them then. Thankyou again :)

    My hens HATE wheat?

Hey, so basically I’ve had my two hens for just over a year now, I’ve tried multiple mixed corns and in all of them they have hated wheat. I have no clue why but my grass is just covered in wheat as they knock it all out of the bowls and eat everything else! Is there any alternative to wheat as...

    Hen attacked!

She is doing really well so far and her wound is already healed quite a lot so hopefully it will heal completely very quickly, she’s back to her normal self as well and isn’t stressed in anyway. Thankyou for your help :)

    Hen attacked!

Yes, she does seem to be quite calm after it and is still eating and drinking. I’ve been giving her a little bit of baytrill in her water.

    Hen attacked!

I’ve put a bit of baytrill in her water that I’ve had for a hen I used to have. She’s quite a confident hen so luckily she’s not too shook up. I went to get something for her last night, I was going to get peroxide and dilute it as I’ve heard that works quite well but the only thing I could find...

    Hen attacked!

Hi, So yesterday one of my hens was attacked by a neighbours border collie, luckily someone in my family noticed before it did too much damage. It managed to get in somewhere, but I have no clue where, so I’m keeping both of my hens inside my conservatory at the moment. She has one little wound...

    Hen with diarrhoea

Yes she is currently laying and this morning she seems to be a bit better. We gave her some probiotic yoghurt and put some apple cider vinegar in her water, which seems to have helped a bit. I think she might just need to be wormed as the farm I got all of my hens from were never wormed so I...

    Hen with diarrhoea

I have three back garden hens that I’ve had since November so I’m fairly new to owning them. One of my hens is 1 years old and recently I’ve noticed heavy breathing from her, she’s quite a nervous hen and is at the bottom of the pecking order so I was wondering that it could be the other 2...
