Cuckoo Silkies- Updated Pics Page 4

Thread revival! Curious- because of the skin pigmentation, is a pink comb at 8 weeks an indication of gender? I have four that have rather pink combs, and one who's comb has remained darker. They are from Blue Ridge silkies (totallycuckoo is his BYC name, I think) and they are partridge and red...

Quit snacking on my chicks! **Warning- GRAPHIC pics**

Thank you Carol, but I am in Merritt Island- and I already caught my bandit!! It was an opossum- which explains why it wasn't taking down the bigger birds. Stupid sucker.

Quit snacking on my chicks! **Warning- GRAPHIC pics**

I think I have enough cage space for everyone. I can put Gesine, Pickle, babies and Claire in the broody cage and Spooky and Cookie together in my big dog crate. Thanks though. I just realized how outdated by signature is. lol!

Well the run is all hardware cloth, but there are gaps up at the top. About 5" all across the length of the coop. PLENTY of room for something to get in. The coop on the other hand would be fairly secure, if I shut the pop door. No place for anything to get in there as far as I know.

Quit snacking on my chicks! **Warning- GRAPHIC pics**

Hey Shellie! You think? I thought a raccoon would go after more than just one chick at a time. At least for the bigger meal if they were both easy targets. I have access to a coon trap though. And cat food...

Quit snacking on my chicks! **Warning- GRAPHIC pics**

This is the second day in a row that I've woken up to a dismembered chick. I'd like it to stop now since I only started with 7...and whatever is getting them seems to be a horrific way to go. Both mornings I was outside around 5:45- yesterday I noticed the momma and everyone else huddled by the...

    Eye that is aggrivated- cloudy?

It's just the one eye, thanks. Chicken Doctor said it looks like a bacterial infection and recommended several things including a dif optic drop (which he sells of course) vetRx, and Tylan. I was wondering if it couldn't be eye worm? I've got the stuff to deal with that already.

    Eye that is aggrivated- cloudy?

    1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Spooky is a silkie, at about POL- weight seems fine 2) What is the behavior, exactly. she turns circles sometimes 3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? ? Not sure- previous...

Pepper, Olive, and Mabs~ A trio of laying hens

Pepper, a light brahma (who thinks she is a goose) Olive & Mabs (EE girls, think Thelma & Louise) are seeking new homes. My yard isn't big enough for personalities as large as these! They would love some property, maybe a lake- and some shady spots to lay :) They are jealous that the small poofy...
