    Baby chick on side

Hi, I had this issue with a Muscovy duckling this year - she hatched without fully absorbing her yolk and was led on her side for almost 36 hours. In the end I made a kind of valley out of some small towels rolled up and "forced" her upright between them. Within 3/4 hours she got it and was...

Embden Goose, sudden lameness and ultimate death - QUESTIONs

Hi, sad day for us today - one of our 2 year old, female Embden geese passed away in the night and was found dead in our pond. Hello, any ideas what this may be? She's otherwise healthy and eating/drinking fine. We did de-louse her from small grey mites a couple of weeks ago.

She's otherwise healthy, but seems curled in the embryo position on one side. Any tips? She's about 8 hours out of the shell and kicking, squeaking as usual.

    Hen leg issues

I'd say this is 90% scaly leg mites from the images, you should quarantine the hen, bathe the leg in tepid clean water and apply generous amounts of Vaseline to smother the mites. Some scales may fall (or be encouraged) out... Fingers crossed!

Thank you, one drake and three hens. The other side is fine chicken wire from halfway up, for ventilation! 😃
