    Winterizing coop not working out

The run was built quickly because there where many attacks when I let them free range and I decided enough was enough and I kept them inside until something safer was built. It's not much but it's better than nothing.

    Winterizing coop not working out

Also one more thing I just remembered . . . when it first snowed and I hadn't had the plastic wrap on that one side where half the wall is plywood and the top half is black plastic wrap, snow and wind go hand in hand here and the coop floor was covered in snow on part of one side. just like rain...

    Winterizing coop not working out

Also, I splurged into a flat panel heater made for coops to add a little bit of heat.

    Winterizing coop not working out

@aart @NHMountainMan Okay so here is my plan . . . this weekend I will try to replace those 2 big tubs with hanging poop boards. That red light in the picture is just a red light (no heat). I got rid of my heat lamps because im too scared of a fire starting. The red light just helps them see at...

    Winterizing coop not working out

@PirateGirl @NatJ @Cryss @Trevorusn I still think trying to get them outside isnt such a good idea because the temp in winter is usually -10*F to 20*F and the winds are neverending and brutal . . . the cold is pretty dangerous here (sometimes being outside for 5-10 minutes gives frostbite)...

    Winterizing coop not working out

@chickens really @MilesFluffybutt @Trevorusn @aart Here's my coop right now, I have 33 chickens and I know its too many for the space they have . . . I found that out the hard way after I got them. I have some containers down to collect poop at night. The water hasn't leaked or spilled at all...

    Winterizing coop not working out

I live up north where the winters get pretty brutal and the snow lasts until March or April. Until now the snow has been on and off so the hens are still able to go outside some days (they dont like coming outside in the snow). In November I completely cleaned out the coop and tarped the walls...

    Respiratory issue in hen

I haven't been able to get a picture because the air bubble goes away every morning, but comes back sometimes at night. It looks just like a bubble of air on the neck. Ive been injecting the medicine by her breast bone in the muscle.

    Respiratory issue in hen

hopefully not, would the skin/muscle around her breast bone be skinner? Also idk if this has anything to do with her issues but she has this too https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/air-bubble-on-neck.886279/

    Respiratory issue in hen

That looks like her abdomen and I dont know where to find a vet for poultry. ive looked everywhere but cant find one near. Putting her down isnt an option, i love her way too much and i'd be destroyed without her
