Currently we are in a nasty cold snap, so no outdoors for now. I've let them have some supervised outdoor time in the mold weather we had in December and earlier this month.
Some long overdue pictures!
The coop isn't the same without Nardole, but life goes on. Some of you might recall Cookie, aka Boob Egg. Well, she is laying perfect little olive eggs now!
I have two handsome boys from the summer hatch, I am keeping Demon, and will be giving Captain Jack to my...
Some long overdue pictures!
The final name line up, in no particular order, and with bo correlation to the pictures:
The EEs: Rhapsody
Meanie Sundress
Butterfly
Nezi
Tallulah Belle
Nilli Vanilli
The black chicks-- 2 are boys, and they are Captain Jack and Demon
The girls: (maybe)
Cookie...
Finally getting my rear in gear and naming my EEs!
Still no name here, but I'm leaning towards Nezi
Nilly Vanilli and Rhapsody
Butterfly
Still working on this one. No strong front runners yet!
Strax, my ridiculous polish,
and Kahnak Star-forsaken, the polish cross.
Eggs! Nyssa is laying that dark green, and Donna the chocolate brown!
14 birds in one nest box.
Why? Because she wants to, and can.
Pretty sure I have at least one boy in the wyandotte crosses, so finally-- a name! Captain Jack Harkness!
Look at that comb! Look at those FEET! He is a HUGE lil chunker, biggest of the bunch but the slowest 2 feather out.
This little poof is keeping me guessing. Hoping for a boy here...
I think I have a first egg, but from whom?
Sadly, the 3 most likely candidates are Nyssa, Leela, and Dona-- my 2 EEs and BCM. Ace is the only one who should lay brown eggs like this, but really doesn't look ready.
It could just be a super small egg from Missy, my RiR, but it would indeed be...
Just some random pictures of my lovely birds. My surviving spring chicks are growing up nicely, got 8 eggs from my 8 mature birds today, and Jackie is still the prettiest wyandotte.
Just some random pictures from the last few days. Fortunately Sarah Jane is a low-key momma, perfectly fine with showing the chicks how to eat out of my hand and let me hold them. :clap
Cookie is delighted to have a family to play and snuggle with, and all the chicks were happy to discover...
One of the EE chicks was dull and lethargic over lunch. I put her in Cookie's box while Cookie was getting snuggles, and the she quietly died before I went back to work. :hit
I gave everyone nutri-drench on arrival, and they all seemed to take a shine to Sarah Jane, so not sure what happened...
I've been so caught up with the late hatchling, I COMPLETELY forgot I had the backup chicks arriving today!
6 sexed EEs and a Meyer Meal maker, who looks to be a leghorn.
Sarah Jane took to them at once! She is such a good momma.
