@WallyG74 I'm always amazed at the shades of brown. I have barred rocks and some mixes, one I'm sure has BCM in her, she lays my darkest shade of brown and I just adore the milk chocolate color!
I literally just wanna show off my eggs to whoever gives a damn, and thats mostly not my friends and family haha they're kinda over it. When I started my journey I got Azure blue layers and PBR from Freys. Then chicken math happened and I now have some barnyard mixes, silkies and royal palm...
Just thought I'd update!
After some intense monitoring the past few days I can confirm %100 that its actually one of my silkie girls laying the itty bitty blue! She's a pretty lady and I'll try to post a pic when the lighting is a bit better outside. But kinda neat to come across as I really...
Thanks! So fairy egg basically means no yolk. I suppose I could have done some research, its just the smallest egg I've picked up and it threw me off when it was smaller than the silkies, so I was curious 🙂 thanks again
Got this little cutie today, I've never picked up a blue egg of this size and I only have two Azure blue layers, with winter settling in I'm not always getting everyone's rent daily so I'm not sure if this is Junes and Leias OR Junes and one of my silkies? (Big blue is DEF Junes, she's always...
Chickens and Royal Palm turkeys for me! Poults were an impulse buy, but absolutely head over heels about 'em. Total feather puppies!
I incubated some duck eggs and they were fun but alas, I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep up with their needs and decided to find the little waddlers happy...
Thank you!! Its always fun making up the cartons for family and friends. Since my Jenny's started laying I've heard a lot of "I didn't even know turkeys laid eggs" I'm positive that MOST people are forgetting the "that you can eat" part but I mean an egg is an egg right?
Junes egg weighed 3oz...
June at 6 months has been a pretty hefty layer since she started popping these lovely blue eggs out in August. There's been a couple of double yolks, which is always an interesting sight.
Two of my Royal Palm turkeys have started laying this week, these are about the size of the other pullets...
I adooooore my feather puppies! I got royal palm poults on impulse and best chicken math error ever. My girls are so friendly and curious, and are a joy to watch. Not to mention a GREAT alarm system!
@aart
We figured out where he came from, they thought it was a great joke and said they dont want him back. Apparently hes a mean one. So I feel less bad about shipping him off with the others now, what a wild last few days for him though.
@Chickassan I find the community I'm in is so quick to...
@chickenenthusiasts5698 I agree, I'm leaning towards a rehome or he goes with the others. At least he'll have a few stressful fed days rather than being scared in the wild? Either or this guy isnt going to be a part of my flock.
Someone thought it would be funny to put a rooster in a guys truck as a joke. Not knowing where to bring him, the prank victim brought him to me and said if I didnt take him he'd just let him loose on the side of the road.
I do not want another rooster, I don't want the 10 I already have.
So now...
Hi new duck momma here, I have 9 6 week old ducklings, some are Pekings, some are Indian Runners, most are crosses I believe. It's been an absolute joy!!
These two have a wing each that seemed "heavy" about a week ago. It's gotten much better, but I'm concerned that my chicken egg (long story)...
One of these is not like the other.... Mr. Magoo is just so interested in what the turkeys are up to, and even more in what they leave behind... it's a dogs life I tell ya.
It was a HOT weekend here, and the humidity was unforgiving so I let everyone out to try and find some shade and get...
