    ALABAMA!!

bamadude lol, it can be brutal, but if you ask, sumboddy gonna say, just sayin' lol. There are a LOT of knowledgeable people on BYC who don't post much, but when they do....listen. I've been breeding marans for a few years now, and have learned SO much from people on here. Eventually you may...

    ALABAMA!!

It depends on how fast you need eggs, if you're wanting eggs pretty quick, buy hens, if you buy chicks it will be about 5 or 6 months before you get eggs. Of course you will pay more for grown hens, but with feed costs you will have just as much in chicks by the time they're ready to lay as you...

    Brahma Thread

That does seem small to me too, but from what I've read on some forums, a lot of bantam breeders are getting their birds too big and judges are placing them regardless. I don't know, but the sop has been around a long long time, so I don't know how,"old" the standard is for bantams, Tim would...

    ALABAMA!!

Oh yeah, trying to find some girlies for my buff brahma bantam. I lost my two hens late last summer before I got a chance to hatch any, so, if I do find any, I'm just concentrating on the marans and the buffs. If I don't find him some girlies, then he gotta go.

Heyyy Wisher, unfortunately my work phone doesn't allow me to get texts :(. Nope, I didn't go, Lindsey had a barrel race. Well, I got rid of all the welsummers and cull marans. Just looked at my hens I have left, and need to make a few more culls. And I guess, the blue copper roo is just going...

Does anyone have any bantam buff brahma pullets or hens for sale? I lost my two hens last year and now only have the male left. If I can't find any, then the male is for sale.

Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Hi Don, I will definitely be interested to see the results on your mossy birds. I have two pullets that I pretty much know came from very mossy hens, covered by a birchen rooster, who supposedly came out of a dark egg. Neither pullet is mossy. One lays a light egg, and the other lays a very dark...

Yes, on the marans egg color chart. I have sisters to this pullet whose egg color I'm disappointed in, but the egg on the right is also a sister, but this is the FIRST egg like that I've gotten from that pen. They are both in different pens. You just never know what you'll get.

Thought I'd share, since we all love daaaark eggs. These are from last year's pullets. The one on the left started off as at least a 7, now it's a 6.

I'm actually in Tuscaloosa county. I sold all my bantams except a light brahma roo. I'm not even really sure it was a mille fleur, could have been a calico, but he was pretty.
