    Possible egg bound???

okay, a good friend of mine is a vet tech. So I’ll check and see if that’s something they can do. I mainly just want to rule out everything and I just kept reading that worms can cause a lot of issues. And we recently treated our dog for worms who loves to eat the chicken poop, and our vet...

    Possible egg bound???

Thank you so so much. We just had to go through dewormer for our dog, we assumed he got it from eating all the chicken poop. Loves those little nuggets. I work on a horse farm and they use safeguard so I have that pretty readily available. This is probably a dumb question, but is it harmful if...

    Possible egg bound???

well I only found out Friday about the potential of worms in the flock so I’ve just been doing research on the different kinds and the best kind. I’d like to deworm the flock, since my dog loves to eat their poop.

    Possible egg bound???

she’s almost 3 years old. Unfortunately I am not totally sure the last time that she laid an egg. I do know they have worms and was thinking of getting some sort of dewormer if they are worth it.

    Possible egg bound???

I have hen who I thought was egg bound, and brought her in to care for her. It’s been about 6 days and she is eating and drinking again just fine, pooping just fine. But is still doing the penguin walk. She seems not quite strong enough to stay out with the other chickens, although we have...

Young rooster aggressive towards older flock

He’s definitely gotten his practice in and has turned into a gentle giant with the girls. I haven’t notice any harm in the last couple weeks. Thank god!

Young rooster aggressive towards older flock

thank you so much! My heart wants to keep him because he has been quite gentle and allows us to pick him up and such. It’s just hard to see the separation in the flock with my older girls. It’s like high school, but for chickens. Or maybe more like middle school! Thank you for the reassurance!

Young rooster aggressive towards older flock

missed out on a thanksgiving meal I guess! I know it’s my decision, I just wasn’t sure if there was any advice or thoughts on why he seems to pick on this one hen and if there are things we can do to detour him from doing it to bring peace back to the flock. May come to a point where he becomes...

Young rooster aggressive towards older flock

well, I think it’s what happens when they are breeding but he seems to be quite aggressive about it. And has clawed out one of the girls feathers on her back. I’ll definitely try to post video or some photos of Nuggets back. It’s my first time having a rooster, so I’m still learning. He seems to...

Young rooster aggressive towards older flock

Hi there everyone. I have 5 girls left in my old gal flock, they’re all about 3-4 years old. July we got a new round and we’re surprised to have a rooster. He’s been great and not showing much aggression but I’m assuming his “puberty” is hitting him. He’s fairly nice to the hens he was raised...

    Older gal seems ill...help!

I have been successful with getting her to “vomit” but I’m not sure how many times I’m supposed to do that. And the stuff coming out of her mouth is more like a brown water than a mucus texture.

    Older gal seems ill...help!

Thank you so much for that. I have a feeling it is sour crop. I didn’t realize this was a thing and she goes back and forth with feeling lively and being sick. I think my best bet is to bring her inside and keep her warm and comfortable till she is ready.

    Older gal seems ill...help!

Hi everyone, I have a mixed age flock and one of my older girls has been struggling for quite some time. But recently I’ve noticed she is not moving much, sleeping a lot, and doing this thing with her neck that almost seems like she has something stuck in her throat. She also keep spitting up...
