    To bring inside or not??

I gave her 2 treatments of the Thieves, oregano oil and honey so far and she seems like she's doing well. Man...does it ever take a long time to give it to her though, sheesh. Lol. The amount given is too much for one sitting so I broke it up into 2 and she's much happier. Her breathing last...

    To bring inside or not??

Thank you so much for your help. I agree with you about bringing her in. She sneezes quite a few times, stretches out her neck, pants a bit and then is fine. She seems to do it when they are picking through the bottom bits in the straw. There is sand dust under the straw. Her breathing sounded...

    To bring inside or not??

I'm going to give her honey, Thieves oil and oregano oil. Because it might not be an illness but instead a sensitivity I'd rather boost her immune and see how it goes. If she is sensitive to the dust then I'm going to have to really think about where she goes. She might become a house pet. :idunno

    To bring inside or not??

Hi peeps. I have a 6.5 month old pullet who's laying often, eating and drinking well. She is sneezing though. I have a treatment plan but what I'm not sure about is do I bring my hen inside my house when the outside temps are much much colder? She's a cochin. My garage is not a restful place and...

    Eglu Cube?

Did you end up getting it? And if so, how is it going? My hubby and I built an indoor coop for our 6 wee young birds. It was relatively the same size (4×4×8 with an indoor area of 4×4×2h) and for the coming winter we ended up building an indoor coop to the side of our shed so the girls could...

Honey + Thieves/OnGuard worked to Naturally Cure Terrible Respiratory Illness, Cough, & Sneezing

I've loved this thread so far. I'm going to give this recipe to my hen that's sneezing and coughing. :clap I'm wondering if I can add colloidal silver to that mix too? I have MUCH faith in natural products. I feel that's the difference in a treatment working or not. It sounds hokey pokey but if...

    Scaly leg mites

I changed to a vaseline and canola oil mixture and dip their feet in it then rub it in well. Their legs seem to be doing better. This spring I'm gonna go nuts on de-miting my coop. Not much can be done now as everything freezes. The coop spray liquid freezes everytime I've tried to spray it...

    Scaly leg mites

I just put that board on there yesterday. I'll deburr the rough edge with the power sander for right now. I know the bits of wood lift up on this so I'll look for a better piece to put up there. The girls seem to love going onto this box so it'll have to be fixed. Thank you.

OSB? Is that the board she's standing on?

    Scaly leg mites

Oh...pretty sure the lice are gone too. When I brought Blanche in to do her foot I was waiting to see if I'd get the lice on my arms and pants from it being so warm. This is what happened with my other birds that came in the house for a short period of time. Nothing came crawling off so that's...

Here is Blanche with her fixed foot. She's much happier now.

    Scaly leg mites

Ya I think I got it in good time. The grey girl, she's a copper maran named Georgie, has her scales lifting and a bit deformed under all the feathers on her legs. But they seem much better now so the vaseline is working. I also got all of, if not then most of the corn out of the bumble on my...

    Scaly leg mites

Here are 2 girl's feet. The SLM damage is a bit hard to see now because of the vaseline. The grey girl has by far the worst feet as far as SLM go. I can't win for losing right now because the golden lace wyandotte in the pics, I had to bring in because of bumblefoot.

    Scaly leg mites

I'll get some pics but it's just so freakin cold here today (-17°C) that I'm kinda doing things on autopilot. Lol.

    Scaly leg mites

I'm assuming it's the middle one. It is a pour on but I was under the understanding that it has to be mixed with water. I'll contact the vet to find out which one it is.

    Scaly leg mites

It's called Boss ivermectin, it's a mix with water variety. It's not permethrin for sure because I have a coop cat and the vet knew I didn't want it at all. :)

    Scaly leg mites

I was hoping to ask the vet if I can put the ivermectin straight on them.

    Scaly leg mites

It seems to have but it's also getting very cold here now. So I'm not sure.
