My Boston Terrier has that same type of lump! After doing some research here is what I think it is......
Calvarial hyperostotic syndrome
This is similar to CMO
Yes....they don't seem to have any of those problems. :(
It is pretty hot here so hopefully that is why. They have a misting in their yard on all day and lots of shaded areas where they can hang out. :(
I have 5 chickens....2 are 2 yrs old and the other 3 are 1 yr old.
Once it started warming up....I was getting about 4 eggs a day....for the last month or maybe 6 weeks.....NO EGGS. :(
We did not change food or add or take away anything unusual.
They have oyster shell available.
I haven't tried the fake cat....lol....too funny. I do have a fake owl but they don't care about it....it's head even rotates around.
The door won't work....We tried hanging down a screen so that the chickens had to push in and the starlings just push in too!!! I hate them btw.
We have 5 chickens. Two of them are 3yrs and the other three are 2 yrs old. Hubby kept a light on them during the coldest winter nights and they laid eggs all winter. Now that we have the light off....no eggs. It's really nice out now so not sure what gives?
Same pellet food plus scraps all...
Here is our brooder from last year...(actually my friend's but ours looks the same)
I think that next time around I'm getting this one....the dog kennel worked fine but cleaning it was a b*%$#!!! I had to crawl inside w/ a shop vac hose....ewww I like the idea of a slide out tray and I'd...
Well, I'm up to ears in Starlings.
Here is our coop....it's the Garden Coop
Close up of door
The chickens are in a fenced in yard so they run around all day.
There is no door to the coop itself except the big people size door.
We only leave it open a little bit to let the girls go...
My girls are ....
Buff Orpington - Zelda
Maran - Veda (since hubby used to call her "my girl"
Blue Americana #1 - Cinders
Blue Americana #2 - Echo (might be a roo)
Wellsummer - Nugget
Gold laced Wyandotte - Amelie
2 Light Sussex - Born Sept 2011
Both beautiful and healthy and are laying everyday.
Please call if you can give them a good home.
They are 15.00 each and I'd love for them to go together since they are bonded....:
I am located in St. Louis, MO in the city area.
Woke up to find that my Maran chicken, Veda has been STOLEN from our yard!! Her wings are clipped and she's in a fenced in pen and our yard has a privacy fence.
A few of our neighbors have chickens so my daughter is going to look in their yard, but it'd be hard to prove it.
Anybody got any...
We have 2 Polish hens born early May this year. One is a Buff Laced Polish and is very nice looking and holds her tail/head up proudly. The other is a Blue Crested and keeps her head low and her tail never raises up....always downward.
Is this something that I should be concerned about...
We are hoping to have our coop mostly finished for the backyard tour on Sunday! My husband is on call this entire week and it's very humid and rainy....ugh.
Wish us luck!!
Here is what we have so far....
More photos on my Blog below.....
We have 8 and they were born May 10 so they are still pullets. They HATE to be chased around (like most animals) so I just sit with them. Some will let me just pick them up to my lap (like a wine glass.....good description) but the Polish and the Brahma....no way. The Brahma is the worst and...
Well, our coop is ALMOST finished!!! We only need to add one more side to the house part and a ladder.
We have also decided to find a home for our little Barred Rock Bantam Pullets.....they are soooo cute, but we feel that 6 will be a good number for the coop size.
Here is what they...
We are hoping to get some sand today or tomorrow.....this is the place we want to get it. I guess they have other types....I was planning on getting "concrete" sand. Here are some of their types of gravel....
Which one do you guys think?
