    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

Sorry for the late reply, but yes. They've been on it for about a week now.

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

Sadly my ducks do not free range. They have a covered outdoor pen that is 16x8 with a pool (expanding to 16x16) in the spring. These three Pekins were supposed to be delivered in April but a shipping mishap brought them to me in early December.... so they have been forced to grow up mostly...

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

I appreciate the answer. I will start to limit their feeding more actively. I was part of the free feed group up to this point. I have three Pekins and another group of three (Rouen, Khaki, Saxony mix... maybe?). They are currently in different parts of the coop so they are fed differently...

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

As requested here is a picture of Moose's leg @Duckfarmer1 I bought the B12 and added it to their communal water. Ideally I would split the pen and give Moose his own medicated water... but our coop is currently split in half to separate the adults/teenagers. For this reason I think I'm going...

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

I'll just have him eat alone with the supplement on top to be safe. Thank you! I will when I get home... but I'm probably over feeding them. Is there a daily amount they should be consuming? My ducks have had access too feed through most of the day and night.

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

Give straight as in separate the problem duck and provide them with a full dose in their own water bowl? Or give it straight as in use a dropper to give it to him directly? Comfortable with either approach, just wanted to make sure.

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

Thanks for the input @Miss Lydia @DuckyDonna Just to be clear, this can be fed to the other healthy ducks as well?

    Pekin Duckling Limp/Crooked Foot

Hello, I have three six week (and one day) old Pekin ducklings. The largest of the group, Moose, is seeming to have increasing trouble walking. While he was indoors it looked like he just moved a little funny but without major issues. Now that he has more space to move around I have been...

    Leg Bands on Duck(lings)

Bought the largest band size at tractor supply yesterday. They fit... for now. It looks like my boys will outgrow them quickly. Anyone know of where I could get some actual leg bands that would fit adult Pekins? I'm not against the zip tie idea per se, I am a little worried about accidental...

    Leg Bands on Duck(lings)

I was able to tell the khakis apart near instantly. I figure I could probably figure out the three... but I’d rather just band them if it’s not a risk for them. At this point I can only tell the largest duck apart from the others

    Leg Bands on Duck(lings)

Hello, my three Pekin ducklings will turn a month old on Monday. You can see where their feathers will soon grow in and they’re turning white slowly. I’ve been considering banding them to tell the three apart. All of our ducks are pets and therefore all receive names. I was going to put leg...

    Paul Cleaned up Nicely

Thanks everyone, and @johntfs i think that was just mud/lighting making him appear to have blue feathers. He’s still apprehensive about swimming.. could be the fact that he didn’t have a pool growing up- or the fact that the incumbent drake is very territorial over the pool. We’ll see in the...

    Paul Cleaned up Nicely

This is Paul when we got him in October (I believe). He was quite dirty and had a case of wet feather in my non-professional opinion. He would get all wet and soggy while swimming unlike my other healthy drakes. After a few baths and access to a kiddie pool every day he is looking much...

Is my situation right for ducks?

I once had a Khaki female fly over my 5ft 4” fence. Once she cleared the fence she ended up landing about 20-25 feet away from the pen. Not saying your fence is too low... just confirming the some people may say Khakis will fly more than others. Best of luck with your duck endeavors!

    Drake running at me!

Interesting never had a duck bite itself hurt. The claws on the other hand have done damage when I pick them up poorly.

Of course, will do so later! Thanks for the suggestion

    Drake running at me!

I experience the same behavior with one of my drakes. Every time I turn to walk out of the pen he puts his head low to the ground and gives a quick charge. Does the same thing with the dog (fence separating). Never had actual contact... but he was always the one to bite while being handled...

    Overpopulated parks?

Tractor supply only offers straight run as well. Consider ordering from a hatchery for smaller numbers and the ability to choose sex. I used pure poultry because they will ship a small number of birds.. you will pay though if you don't meet the number of birds for free shipping. My 3 Pekins...

New Pekins- Slightly Worried about One

Hey guys, I noticed a little bit of sneezing going on last night. I caught one sneezing fit and it seemed to be resolved quickly when the duckling walked over and got their bill covered in water. I suspect the issue may be they need better access to water. They're so thirsty, our little water...

New Pekins- Slightly Worried about One

The ducklings at one week. I see what you guys meant... they definitely would have outgrown the original brooder by now.
