Anyone ever kept a wild animal as a pet

Yep, I had a baby rabbit, too. I forgot about that. And, you are certainly right about the nervousness. Actually, the one I had was scared to death and did not seem to be going to get over it. It would let you hold and pet it, but just seemed terrified. And, when it decided to jump or run, it...

    Is it Spring yet!?

Move to Alabama....mine never lay off at all. It does get cold here and wet. It is actually raining now and supposed to turn to snow (a rarity) but apparently not too cold for them to lay. I do keep light on them, though, and that is the ticket.

Anyone ever kept a wild animal as a pet

A couple of coons, a squirrel, several turtles, and even had a praying mantis, but they only live about a year, and they do not do much. The best wild pet that I had was a skunk. Of course his name was Stinky. Took awhile to find a vet that would remove his glands, but finally did when he was...

Does anyone know why my chickens do this after they lay eggs?

I have witnessed mine doing it after laying the egg but she is still in the box singing the song. I just assumed it was attempt to add nesting material closer to the egg. I have never seen it after they are out of the nesting box.

I have nest boxes under the roost. I do have a roost tray, though. Also, mine are not buckets but are built out of wood, and they are not on the ground. The nest are actually attached to the bottom of the poop tray, and high enough off the coop floor that the birds can use the floor space under...

How many birds can my coop hold? *Pics*

I am sorry but there is no way 26 chickens were fitting in the coop pictured. You must mean in the "run" which is not a coop. The coop is the white box, and from the looks of the coop you could put a couple to 3 in there.
