    Andalusian? Prairie blue eggers??

Thanks.. I got these from tractor supply. the only one "breeding" these was the supplier, Hoovers hatchery.... feather color is a phenotype and im basing what i said on phenotypes, not genotypes. Its not as accurate as genotypes but it certainly has something to do with Mendelian genetics and...

    Andalusian? Prairie blue eggers??

So, I had a bit of information jumbled in the beginning but I now believe these are Prairie Bluebell second generation...or maybe just random generations?? I can only see one with a bit of a muff and beard but they are looking a lot like leghorns...and muffs and some pea combs suggest prairie...

Crossing a Blue Orpington Boy with Other Colours

I think that the lavender orpington is different than most other crosses that produce blue/gray/lavender and that this lavender gene will cause other colors to be lighter? Maybe black or white would be good color crosses and all other colors will be the same but lighter?? I researched it a...

    6.5 week old silkie gender?

thats my guess. I posted pics of a Moorhead partridge, the same age, yesterday and everyone said hen. So, I thought I'd check and see if anyone could sex these...but was guessing the partridge is easier to sex at this age too.

    Guesses on breed or gender

ps...still no crowing. I was raising some of my Faverolles in my basement, in case something happened to those being raised outside? Both groups are doing fine. Indoor group are much bigger! Faverolles were bred to be kept in small spaces, which is good for me because it is freezing outside and...

    Guesses on breed or gender

He does look like a roo in some ways but his comb and wattles haven't grown or gotten redder. The neck feathers (saddle) seem rounded but he has the lavender gene that makes the feathers loose, a little like silkie, so its difficult to say? I forget the name of the gene that causes this in...

Why do my chickens seem so interested in the inside of my house?

I believe most chicken behavior with humans involves food! lol They are waiting for you to bring food!
