Chick found dead in nest box

It was most likely killed by another hen or maybe a rooster. I may be wrong, but it's a possibility. It's very common for some hens to kill chicks that don't belong to them. If possible, I'd recommend moving mom and her babies to an area the others can't have access to.

I need a slightly older goose

This is probably a long shot, but does anybody know where I can buy a slightly older goose? I have a goose who's a little older than 2 months and he desperately needs a friend or several friends. I think he's an Embden goose (he was a surprise gift) but I could be wrong. I'm trying to find one...

Unsure What Breed my Rooster is

That's what I was thinking. I'm struggling to figure out what the other part is though. I don't know what would make his feathers that thin

Unsure What Breed my Rooster is

I hope this is the right category to post this in. I'm curious what you guys may think this rooster is because, frankly, I have no idea. He was given to me as a gift a while ago when he was a baby chick. The people who gifted him to me said that they were told he was a pure bred Ayam Cemani...

Hen is thin with pale face

I have a Rhode Island Red hen who has become very thin over the past few days. Her comb has also become pale and dried out looking. Today I noticed that her legs and feed have become very yellow in color and the flock seems to be secluding her. She is eating and drinking fine and appears to be...

    Odd Behavior (edited)

After interfering with her nest, it appears that she has abandoned the eggs. I haven't seen her sit on them all day. I will give her a little more time, but at least she is safer now.

    Odd Behavior (edited)

I do. Knowing that the eggs could be fertile is one of the reasons I truly don't know what to do. I can't mess with the nest and move the eggs because she most likely will not go back to them, but I also can't put a barrier around the nest on the roof. I think I am going to just watch the nest...

    Odd Behavior (edited)

I followed her and I have an even bigger problem. She's sitting on eggs on top of the roof. I'm not too sure why as the nesting boxes would have been much safer, but I don't know what to do because that is not a good location at all

    Odd Behavior (edited)

One of my Barred Rock hens disappeared 6 days ago. About 2 days after, she came back and ate with the rest like it was nothing. She was drenched (it had been raining) and smelled like old eggs. By that night she was gone again as she wasn't roosting with the others. After that, I didn't see her...

    Foot injury on chick

About 2 weeks ago, one of my polish chicks developed a small limp. I examined it's foot but found nothing. Just in case it was the beginning of bumblefoot, I gave it an epsom salt soak. I continued to watch it carefully, but the limp never got better, and the foot never really swelled up. I gave...

    Chicken covered in weird bumps

My 5 year old frizzle/silkie mix is covered in these weird little brownish bumps and has a large rough patch on her chest (pics below). I was thinking maybe it could be a case of fowl pox or some kind of mites, but I could be totally off She isn't acting lethargic or anything and she seems to...

    Chick Acting Odd

The chick seems great. Both eyes are open and it's very active. It was walking around more and even jumping up and trying to roost on things. Though, it is still a little bit shaky and it's still stumbling around.

    Chick Acting Odd

I forgot to mention that it is still shaky and seems very worn out, even when active

    Chick Acting Odd

The eggs hatched from one of our own chickens. The chick seems to be drinking and eating fine, but is very dehydrated. I noticed that it drinks a lot of water. It has managed to get one eye almost completely open, but it only lasts for short periods before the eye closes again. The other eye...

    Chick Acting Odd

I brought it inside to keep a closer watch on it, and one of its eyes appeared a little swollen.

    Chick Acting Odd

I have two 6 week old polish chicks and when I went to check on them, I noticed one of them wasn't acting right. It was standing in one spot, shaking a little bit with its eyes closed; however when I reached for it to check it out, it became alert and moved. It didn't take long before it started...
