Here is my guess for each - how close am I?!
1/2: white silkie - female
3/4: splash silkie (?) - female
5/6: white silkie - aware of neck issues. Unsure on sex?
7/8: splash silkie (?) - male
9/10: blue silkie (?) - male
11/12: red Cochin - female
13/14: red Cochin - male
15/16: white silkie...
I have updated pictures I am sending of my 8 week old silkies and 2 Cochins that I feel have grown a lot in just 3 weeks! I will also “guess” the sex of each one to see what I have learned! There are 2 pictures of each Pullet/cockerel - one picture of the comb and one full body pic!
The younger close up picture of #4 definitely looked like a male. SHE had that “look” that Roos normally have lol! That one threw me off. The older version of #5 you can clearly see the sex but younger version looked to me like a female.
Thank you, I look at the feedback on here all the time and it has been helpful. Can you give me a little more info on the single comb - why will my single comb silkies be more obvious on the sex at a younger age?
I know trying to determine the sex of a silkie is very difficult and almost impossible at 5 weeks, but hoping for someone to give me some key things to look for in male silkies vs female silkies that I would be able to recognize as my chicks get older. Also yes they are all 5 weeks but small...
