    Feathers Not Growing Back?

I have a ChocolateTom Turkey who seems to be having trouble with feather growth. He lost most of his chest feathers from fighting with his 2 rival Toms in the Spring. We have had bad luck in the female to male ratio in all of our types of birds as we have ended up with an over abundance of...

When I bought my poults last year they all turned into three toms. I purchased a lone hen from a farmer near me for 20. Then purchased two more from another for 30 each then one more for 25. Depending one size of you're birds 20-35 is the price to go with. Although some rare breeds will go for...

    Turkeys For 2013

Well all of you're flock will be like... Woah where is tommy? And the will be all a little sad thy their confinement buddy is gone. Turkeys are very social and losing a bird is like losing a good friend. They will be bummed but they will get over it quickly.

    Turkeys For 2013

Turkeys do not breed with one mate for life. The Tom or jake is more interested in passing down genes to the next generation. That's why I always have more hens then toms in spring and summer. My largest Tom weighing in at 20.14 pounds has been around for 1 1/2 years and he breeds all five of my...

So my Tom has claimed the five poults are his. He dust bathes with them eats drinks sleeps and protects them. If he hears them screech he comes running and will go after any hen or Tom bothering them. He drapes his wings over them at night too. Weird Tom but he is happy. Don't think I have the...

I have 4 hens all purchased after at least 4 months. They are healthy and happy except their tail feathers all fell out. All of my hens. I don't understand because my toms have full fans along with all of my poults. Would it make a difference if the toms were hand raised and so arn't the poults...

My poults get cut up all the time. Playing fighting or just being curious in places you shouldn't be. They all have healed in my case. Check on the poult constently to make sure the other chicks arn't pecking him/her at the source of the cut. The other birds don't know they are injuring him...
