I had a similar problem and I used terramycin because it was all they had at the local feed and seed. It worked fine and the chicken recovered...

Second, if its worm outside and you are there to protect them then it sould be fine to let them have some playtime outside....
The wheatgrass itself is really not much different for the chickens than whatever is growing in your yard in relation to its potency....
Is your yard secure (from escape by the chickens) with a fence? Could they have wandered off? I hope that is the case.
