hi everyone,
i have just given my broody buff orpington 11 eggs to hatch,
The eggs are all very small compared to others because they are silkies and pekin eggs.
she is sitting on them all but im not sure if they are all in the correct place, i know directly under the belly is where the warmth...
Hi everyone!
I have got a new incubator and was going to buy some eggs off a friend but then i had a thought,
my rooster has been gettin' busy lately with the pullets (who are much older but still laying) the females are totally submissive
and the male holds on to her neck feathers and mounts...
over a month ago my hen went broody, so i gave her a couple jersey giant eggs (even though she is a rode island red)
she hatched them and they are 3 and a half weeks old. she is a fantastic mother,
one of my other hens looks after the chicks two, they have 2 mothers!
they are both great mothers...
5 eggs in my incubator have weird shaped air cells, like partly detached, saddle shaped/ U-shaped and detached,
its day 14 so its in the later stage of incubation. I wasnt here for the first 13 days so i couldnt act early.
The eggs are on their sides,
will they hatch?
Thanks :)

Hi everyone,
I have 7 eggs in the incubator lying on their sides.
Its day 13 and I candled them for the first time, all are moving and look healthy, but the air cells are
saddle shaped and move around a little bit, fortunately a couple eggs' air cells are normal.
My incubator has been perfect...
I am incubating 9 buff orp eggs in my rcom 20
In your experience when have buff orpingtons hatched? Like... By day 21 or are they the type of chicken that will likely be late? The temperature is 37.5c (forced air) and humidity is 45%
I have a forced air incubator and its not going to have eggs for over a week, but i am just making sure its all good.
i was wondering what is the best humidity for incubation, from day 1-18 and from day 18-21?
I know no one knows the best but what bring the best hatch rate?
I am incubating eggs in homemade incubator and its day 25, I have no chirping pipping or movement, or no movement i have noticed, i know my chicks still have a chance at hatching because they developed perfectly and i candled them on day 18 and they were good. I also know the incubators...
Its 5 hours into day 21, I am counting correctly, I am counting day 1 24 hours after i first started incubating them.
Its day 21 and no movement, chirping or pipping has occured yet, too early to worry?
When I candled on day 18, they were all moving and alive. But they did look small for day 18...

Hello everyone,
It has been 3 hours since the start of day 20 incubating my eggs, when i candled my eggs on day 18 there was a relatively large empty space on the pointy side of the egg, not be be confused as the air sac, which is there. People told me there is an empty space because people...
I just candled my buff orpington eggs on day 18 (yesterday, they are on lock down now)
the chicks were moving and healthy but there is a relatively large empty space at the pointy end of the egg. Its day 19 now and i know that they will probably hatch late, but i hope they dont. does anyone know...
