So we've got now 28 birds in our loft. The most recent additions have been there for almost 2 weeks now. Last night one of our hens was acting really lethargic and sat around all puffed up. She let me walk right up to her and pet her before taking off, which is really unusual for these birds. My...
I have a few questions real quick. My dad and I have had pigeons on and off since I was a little kid and he raised them as a kid as well. We are going to getting back into having pigeons shortly (hopefully I can get my husband into it!), and we're trying to decide what we're going to do with our...
Okay... this kind of started in the picture posting thread and I'm curious to know... How many other women on here hunt and what do you hunt? I'm not talking... oh I went out hunting once... type hunting... I'm talking looking forward to the next season as much if not more than your S.O.
I hunt...
My DF got transfered to Illinois for work and we're renting an apartment. That being said, a 750 sqft apartment is not going to work for 14 ducks, a dog, and us. I need to get these guys new homes before I go. I'd give them away, but I really need the money to get some stuff for the new digs...
I have 6 welsh harlequin ducklings for sale. They hatched 10-8 and 10-9. I'm pretty sure they'll be silvers. They're all really friendly. They get handled a lot! I'm asking $7.00 each or all 6 for $35.00. They are pickup only, because I don't think I can ship them.
Is it normal for ducklings to be sticky after they hatch? I've had one or two from the last hatch with their feathers stuck down and then this hatch the three that have hatched so far have their feathers stuck down. My humidity is about 65% right now.
So... I came home tonight to four ducklings!! I have two pekins and two rouen x pekins. I'm waiting on the last egg still. Wednesday at noon is the official hatch date, so once again, my babies are early! I'll get some pictures tomorrow. Also, two of them have their feathers stuck together. What...
I just was wondering what my humidity should be at for duck eggs. I was running it at 50% and then when my chicks went to lockdown, I boosted the humidity to 60% and just haven't taken the water out yet. I'd think it'd be higher being as they are ducks, but I don't know. Any information would be...
I have 2 crested pekins that are around 2 months old. I'm almost positive both are hens. The one is a little bit smaller than the other but she's coming along. Both are feathering out nicely though. They both have nice crests on them that are decently sized. I'm looking to get around $10/each...
I've got a half dozen easter egger chicks that I need to sell. They're from Miss_jayne, so they come from nice stock. I'm looking for $4/each or $20 for all six. I've never shipped before but I suppose I could try it, although I don't want to garantee anything.
I have some 2 day old easter egger chicks that I hatched from Miss_Jayne. I was wondering what a fair price would be for them. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
Well... at the prodding of MJ (just kidding) I am posting that we are officially on lockdown. I've got 10 ee eggs from MJ in the ugly bator. It's homemade and this is our first rodeo. I've really excited...
Okay... so I went on lockdown today at 5 pm for my ee eggs. I have a split hatch going. I've got the ee eggs due the 25th and duck eggs due the 7th and 9th. My question is do I continue to rotate the duck eggs or not? My humidity is at 55% as of the moment. I'm working on raising it to around...
Okay. So I know everyone is against split hatches, but I have... well three I guess. I've got EEs do the 25th, pekins and rouens due the 7th, and welsh harlequins do the 9th. Since tomorrow is lockdown for me with the EEs, what do I do about the other eggs? All of the duck eggs but 3 are in an...
I just wondered what cool tricks other people have taught their dog(s) to do. I'm trying to come up with things to teach my dog. Here is what he knows so far:
Sit
Down
Stay
Wait
Roll Over
Shake
High Five
Crawl Bow
Up (Stands up on his hind legs and walks)
Wave
Down Again (Lays down on his...
I've got a welsh harlequin egg that has the aircell on the side of it. I'm on day 3, so it's really just guessing for me at this point as to whether or not it is developing. Is there any hope on it hatching?
So, tonight (day 9), I candled my ee eggs. It was awesome! Not only did I get to see the babies moving around, I got to see one's feet. So, my question is what is the neatest thing you've ever seen when you candled an egg?
So... I finally got a picture of my new WH drake. He doesn't have a name yet. Also, he's still going through his molt, so he doesn't have his nice green head yet. Tell me what you think!
There is a post further down wanting to know what a sex-linked is. So my question is which breeds are considered sex-linked? I've got EE eggs in the bator and just wondered if you could tell their sexes at hatching?
