I have a trio of chocolate cuckoo orpingtons, and while most of the chicks i hatch have the cuckoo barring, some of them don't and look like this: What the heck?
Barred Olive Egger, hatch date July 9th, so a hair over 3 months. I originally thought pullet, but now I'm convinced it's a Roo. Someone please tell me I'm wrong. :)
Thanks so much for the quick response to my last inquiry. Here I have another....same hatching, so around 5 months of age.... any ideas on this one?!? Could this possibly be a "crele orpington"..that was one of the options...sigh.
I originally thought it was a Welsummer, but now I noticed the white earlobes! Very quick, flighty, upright in stance, and small. Any ideas??? Now around 5 months old.
This one was a "mystery egg" that I received from a hatchery. I thought originally it was a Welsummer, but now I notice the white earlobes. It's a rather flighty pullet (runs FAST) and has a small, upright body and tail.
I had a small breeding flock of lavender brahmas that I obtained from Carolina Rare Chicks. Unfortunately, a fox just took out my one and only Lavender Roo! I'm absolutely devastated. It doesn't look like any more are currently available. Does anyone know of any other breeders? Thanks!!
So, I got a mixture of breeds from a friend, all as day old chicks. Most of them I have figured out, but not this one! Can anyone help me identify what this breed is? By process of elimination, it *should* be either a Whiting True Blue or an Ameraucana. I thought that if it was an Ameraucana...
