    Feeding raw peanuts to broilers

I have access to tons of free shelled peanuts. I was wondering if I could feed broiler chickens peanuts? Do you think I could get away with just peanuts in their diet? They are high in protein and fats and they will be butchered in like 8 to 10 weeks so I don't care about long term.

Do red rangers eat as much as cornish x?

I'm really wanting to raise some meat birds this spring. I've raised chickens most of my life but have never had much experience with meat birds. I've been wanting to get some Red rangers to raise and put in my freezer. But I've learned that since they are a hybrid I can't breed them and get the same type of chicken. I was wondering if it would work using a plastic tote upside down with openings so they can come in and out as they want? You think the plastic would hold the heat? It would be in a shed. Any ideas or input would be appreciated.

I was wondering if there is really a difference in using distilled water or tap in an incubator for humidity. A hen isn't really the cleanest of animals. I see eggs hatched in chicken poop all the time. Anyone ever hatch with tap water ?

I bought a sportsman cabinet incubator from a friend a while back ago. To boost the humidity on day 18 I really need the humidity pads that go in the water. Instead of the humidity pads would those big sponges from Walmart work? Is there a big difference?
