    Beginning showing.

I have an Ameraucana pullet that I think I might like to show, but I don't want to be laughed out of the building. I don't have any interest in breeding, but I think it would be a fun way to spend some more time with the chickens and like minding people. I'd love some tips to get started about...

    What breed is for me?

I'm not certain if this is the "right" section for my question, but I need some breed recommendations. I'd like a brown egg layer (any shade really), but I'd like a rare/endangered breed. I currently have two Ameraucanas (true, not EE), an oliver egger, a D'Uccle, and a little game/dutch type...

Will pullets start laying even though the winter is coming?

My girls have not started laying yet, but are approaching laying age. The days are shortening already, but I was wondering if they will lay anyway or do they hold out until spring regardless of age? Thanks in advance!

    Is this an EE cockeral?

This chick is 4 weeks, nearing 5 weeks. Three very distinct rows of peas, ever so slightly pink. Legs seem thicker than my other EEs and the deeper red color is coming in splotches. Am I right??

In the mixed bantam bin, there were chicks that were all black with white cheeks. They were adorable and I'm curious what they were. TIA!!

Please tell me what I just bought?

So I went to a very nice lady told her I was looking for an Easter Egger pullet and mentioned that I cannot have roosters. The more I look at this chicken, the more confused I get. Right now all of the feathers are rounded but there are still feathers coming in around the next that appear to...

So I got a coop that is an ark style 8 square feet on top with 16 square feet below. I have four chickens now that do well, but there's a new girl I REALLY want, no need. Now, they only go in the coop when they decide to go to bed and they are let out at 7:00 AM each morning. They spend the...

Ideas for where to get petition signatures.

We are, of course trying to change the hen ordinance and I need signatures, lots of them. I called local feed stores, they were willing to post a petition, but I wasn't allowed to set up a little table or anything. Any new or creative ideas?
