Sold! I want just silkies, so paypal fixin' to be sent. I'd love to come pick them up instead of you just shipping them a few counties over, but no can do, so how much will shipping be?
ETA: nevermind, I see shipping is 10. Duh.
I set some shipped eggs this past saturday and didn't get a chance to candle before putting them in the bator (where the heck is a flashlight when you need it??) I finally got a new light today, and pulled them all out to candle. The blue eggs were obviously scrambled, but I really couldn't...
If anyone can tell me how to get in touch with this seller, I would really appreciate it. She is not answering PMs, and I need to find out if my eggs were lost in shipping. Thanks.
Let the chick have a chance to hatch before you poke a hole. If you put a damp washcloth in there, it will raise the humidity almost immediately...wet the washcloth then wring it out well. Good luck with your little one!
ETA: Warm water on that washcloth, sorry I didn't specify!
Mine works great now that I've gotten the hang of it. The most important things for mine were to keep it out of any drafty places (no open windows near it, no basement, etc) and keep it in a temperature controlled room (ie with the AC or heat on so that room temp is fairly stable) and keep it...
We always have broodies...and they're always the ones who aren't supposed to like RIR and black sex links. I have NO idea what makes them do it, mine will sit empty nests for a month.
What a FANTASTIC idea! I bet there's a way to rig some super powerful blind-you-for-life lights right under the mesh and wire them to a toggle switch on the lid. I may have to do this on the upcoming bator project.
I've had two boodies hatch out clutches in my homemade brooder box. We had it sitting in the living room, and every day or two we would walk in the house and be greeted by the FOULEST smelling broody poop on the face of the earth. The broodies are now outside on their OWN!!
Does anyone have a dozen or two hatching eggs from different/mixed breeds they can send me for near shipping cost? My welsummers and olive eggers are on the way, just need one or two dozen more cheapies to fill the bator. Oh, the closer to me, the better, I'm in NC. Thanks!
I have an empty bator and a soon-to-be empty brooder. Does anyone have any extra olive eggers, marans or welsummers that I can set? Might even take some brahmas.
