    1 year old sex-links not laying?

    Are they getting plenty water, & layena? They will not lay well without. It would be very unusual for red sex links not to be laying. Have you ruled out predators that might be getting the eggs? At a year old I would think they would be laying well.

    Dark legged looks like a French copper Mayan, you have an Easter egger or Americauna, and Dominque it appears to me. All really good ones for eggs. My Dominique looks like the one with yellow legs, Mayan has the dark legs, and the Easter egger has the green legs.

    Do I really have to keep chicks in brooder for 6 weeks?

    I had mine in the bath tub with doggy pads til about 2 weeks then in the outside coop with heat lamps until they feathered out. I also tarp with bungee cords to avoid rain and wind. Didn't lose any of the 14. They are 2 months now.

    If you order from a hatchery, like McMurray, minimum is 25, I believe; if you order from other places, sometimes they have a minimum order, say tractor supply won't let you purchase less than 6. Keep receipts & take pics of any you lose for free replacement., otherwise you will be out of luck...
