Hey All,
It's been quite some time since I've been on BYC and just as long since having a flock of Seramas. I'm currently seeking them in the Northeast Georgia area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I need all your help and advise. My layer pen is an older flock, so when 1 became weak and died it wasn't much of a surprise. Then another and now 1 more is behaving odd. All three birds have gone down with in a week and a half. The only symptoms seem to be lethargy and weakness. They spend...
In my mixed flock I suddenly found purple eggs. This is an established pen...no one has been added in over a year. I have 1 ee that lays a blueish egg shown. Here is the first picture...
I have black copper marans in the pen. A friend said that she found a purpleish egg in her bcm pen...

2. compared to chickens, how are they on feed
3. how many girls will a tom be ok with
4. what...
I've become extremly allergic to bee and wasp stings. There is a nasty nest in the coop and they swarmed and stung today. Anyone have ideas to kill safely with the chickens? Hubby is gonna handle it for me, but I'm afraid of chickens getting stung or them eating a wasp that has been sprayed...

I know that hens are going to slow down on egg production when it's hot. It's been much cooler for a while now and I'm not getting ANY eggs from anyone. I have a friend who is still getting eggs. Anyone have any ideas?
This is TOTALLY KILLING ME, but I must downsize! I'm selling a quad of orpingtons,,,,,Blue roo, 1 blue hen, 1 splash hen, and 1 black hen. These birds come from speckled hen's Suede and Korfus kluckers. They are all turning a year old in August, GREAT layers and proven fertility. I simply...

This morning I stared to fill up feeders in my layer pen. I usually throw one scoop out on the ground to occupy them while I'm working. I'm at the bottom of a bag of food and saw mold. How much damage did I do???? What do I look out for???? Yes, I'm going to get more food today and clean...

These were taken with the cell phone and the chickies were fast. sorry they are a little blurry.
The one on it's back was really laying like that.
They were sleepy and kept trying to bury their heads in the blanket. Lots of booty shots.
3 are a handful. So tiny.
